I am a biologist and environmental scientist specialised in Oceanography and environmental management. My professional career has focused on how human activities impact the environment, particularly marine ecosystems. Within this field, I have mainly studied coastal areas, but I have also had the opportunity to study other, more extreme environments, such as the Arctic region. I started out as part of the EMM group on a JAE Intro ICU scholarship, but since 2024 I have been working as a laboratory and field technician in Felipe H. Coutinho’s group. My work involves the study of the Effects of Anthropogenic Impacts on Marine Microbes (EAIMM project) by characterizing bacterial and viral communities in coastal areas; this involves assessing ecosystems subject to climate hazards and varying human pressures, alongside specific threats like antibiotic resistance and pathogenicity.
